Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is planning to reduce overall headcount at its Valencia, Spain plant by about 1,100.
A company spokesperson told Seeking Alpha that about 1,100 of the 6,000 full-time employees at the plant will be let go. The cut is driven by the Dearborn-based automaker’s desire to reorient European production and align staffing with production demands.
"Ford is taking another step in its European transformation by announcing plans to resize its workforce at its Valencia plant due to the revised vehicle line-up. Ford Spain has informed its union partners that approximately 1,100 jobs are affected, mainly due to the already announced discontinuation of S-Max and Galaxy production in April 2023," an emailed statement read. "Ford will work constructively with its union partners to reduce the impact of the separations on employees, their families, and the local community."
