10:49 PM EDT, 05/11/2022 (MT Newswires) -- National Silicon Industry Group or NSIG (SHA:688126) plans to invest 388 million euros ($408.3 million) on a new 200-millimeter silicon wafer factory in Finland, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.

The investment will all be used to construct the factory that will be run by the Chinese silicon producer's Finnish arm Okmetic.

NSIG will also increase Okmetic's capital to 90 million euros through its own funds or the introduction of a shareholder, the company said.

The new factory will boost the company's silicon wafer production capacity by 17% to 6.6 million wafers per month, NSIG added.
