New Zealand Shares Post Third Consecutive Week of Decline -- Market Talk
0423 GMT - New Zealand's NZX-50 closed 0.5% lower at 12740.12, losing ground for a third consecutive week as market interest rates continue to climb. The index lost 1.3% for the week. Retirement-village operator Ryman Healthcare was the session's biggest decliner, down 4.8% after lowering its dividend payout ratio. Auckland International Airport shed 2.7% after being downgraded by Jefferies, which says eventual recovery in air travel is factored into the share price following its recent gains. Interest-rate sensitive power utilities were also weaker. Meridian Energy dropped 1.1% and Mercury fell 2.7%. (stephen.wright@wsj.com)
