First Merchants to Buy Level One Bancorp Inc. in $323.5 Million Deal >FRME LEVL

First Merchants Corp. on Thursday said it agreed to buy fellow bank holding company Level One Bancorp Inc. in a deal valued at about $323.5 million, continuing a wave of consolidation in the banking sector.

First Merchants, based in Muncie, Ind., said it plans to issue 0.7167 shares, along with $10.17 in cash, for each share of Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Level One.

Based on Wednesday's closing prices, the deal values Level One at about $41.35 a share, a roughly 16.6% premium.

First Merchants said it will have combined assets of about $17.6 billion upon completion of the deal, slated for the first half of 2022.
