Singapore Shares Fall 0.3% After Covid-19 Curbs Extended -- Market Talk

0948 GMT - Singapore shares ended lower as travel- and retail-related companies declined after the country extended domestic Covid-19 restrictions. The extended restrictions could damp retail-related real-estate companies, DBS Research says. CDL, which owns malls and hotels, slipped 0.7%. Resort owner Genting Singapore fell 1.3%. Singapore Airlines was the index's worst performer with a 2.6% decline. Industrial-related stocks were among the gainers. Industrial-property owner Ascendas REIT rose 0.7% and ST Engineering added 0.3%. The FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.3% lower at 3188.50. (yongchang.chin@wsj.com)
