Robert Kaplan, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, continues to support the Fed in announcing a reduction in bond purchases at next month's meeting.The reason is that although the Delta mutation has led to a surge in COVID-19 cases, the US economy is still resilient.

Based on what I have seen, I have not seen anything that will lead to a substantial change in my point of view.

Kaplan made the above remarks in an interview.

"I will continue to pay attention to this issue in the weeks leading up to the September meeting, but based on all this, I think that when we meet in September, we will announce with satisfaction our plan to adjust our bond purchases and begin to implement them in October or shortly after."
