Shanghai, November 16, 2020 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- recently, the TI Cup 2020 Provincial College Student Electronic Design Competition (hereinafter referred to as "Provincial Competition") came to an end in various cooperative districts, and top talents from schools across the country competed fiercely. After four days and three nights of fierce competition, the winners of the corresponding awards were selected by provincial competition experts. The provincial competition attracted 616 colleges and universities from 17 provinces and cities across the country, including Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hubei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Hunan, Fujian and Guangxi. A total of 10710 teams and 32130 contestants took part in the competition.

2020 is the non-national competition year of college students' electronic design competition. although there is no national selection and evaluation this year, the provincial competition is also a heavyweight platform for all electrical students in the country to show their strength. the aim is to promote the renewal, integration and reform of the teaching contents of basic courses in electronic information disciplines, and to cultivate college students' innovative consciousness, comprehensive design and engineering practice ability. This year is the 12th year that TI supported the provincial competition. The contestants overcame the challenge of insufficient training and preparation time due to the epidemic, and finally successfully created many excellent works and handed in the perfect answers to the competition questions.

This year, TI follows the mode of cooperation with the competition area for even years, inviting the core experts of the national electric competition to work out a set of competition reference propositions and evaluation standards for the use of the cooperative competition according to the standards of the electronic design competition for college students. TI provides seven competition reference propositions, including wireless motion sensor node design (question A), single-phase online uninterruptible power supply (question B), ramp driving electric car (question C), obstacle-bypassing aircraft (question D), amplifier nonlinear distortion research device (question E), simple contactless temperature measurement and identification device (question F) and non-contact object size and shape measurement (question G). The direction covers power supply, measurement and control, instrumentation, signal processing, communication and robot applications, etc. Each competition district can adjust the reference proposition and evaluation standard according to the demand.

In order to facilitate the full preparation of the students participating in the competition, TI continues to provide them with the development board support of single-chip microcomputer this year. TI.com online Mall also provides convenient equipment procurement channels for participating schools. The mall has a large number of genuine goods in stock, supports a variety of payment methods, and orders can be ordered as soon as two days. In addition, TI engineers conducted a series of live broadcasts of simulation and processor applications in electronic competitions in early September, and students can easily obtain training courses and materials related to electronic competitions on the National Electronic Design Competition for College students.

Dr. Wang Chengning, Program Director of TI Global University, was impressed by the outstanding performance of the students in the provincial competition: "during the special epidemic, I am glad to see more than 30,000 university students actively overcome all difficulties to participate in the provincial competition and unite with enthusiasm and unity. The provincial competition is an important part of the TI China University Program, which aims to provide a practical platform for Chinese college students' independent innovation. We thank the organizing committee, expert groups, university teachers for their strong support, as well as the students' active participation. Texas Instruments Inc will continue to support Chinese universities in cultivating innovative talents to meet the ever-changing needs of the Chinese market. "

Under the background of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in colleges and universities, TI, as the world's leading analog and embedded processing semiconductor manufacturer, has always been committed to deeply participate in and cooperate with all kinds of teaching reforms of the school. TI's university plan in China is a long-term strategic plan, which aims to support the teaching reform of electronic information and the cultivation of innovative talents in Chinese colleges and universities, and to promote the integration of industry, university and research. 2020 is the 24th year that TI University plans to take root in education in China. At present, TI has set up more than 3000 digital signal processing, analog and microcontroller laboratories in more than 700 universities in China, and more than 300000 students practice and learn through TI laboratories and various activities every year. In the future, TI will continue to fully support the electric competition, strive to promote the competition to a higher level and international direction, and help train more professionals who master the world's advanced technology.
