The Straits Times Index (STI) ended higher for the second consecutive session on Friday, adding 31 points or 0.81% to close at 3,861.42.

However, market sentiment remains cautious as global inflation and tariff concerns weigh on investor confidence.

Gains were led by financials and real estate investment trusts (REITs), while industrial stocks showed mixed performance. CapitaLand Investment surged 1.62%, SingTel spiked 1.55%, and Singapore Technologies Engineering jumped 3.52%.

Meanwhile, ComfortDelGro fell 1.45%, Seatrium slipped 0.92%, and Wilmar International edged down 0.31%.

Wall Street's losses on Friday, driven by inflation fears and weak US consumer sentiment data, could dampen investor sentiment in Asia on Monday. The STI may face near-term resistance at 3,860, with key support at 3,800.
