Zahid Hamidi Unveils Enhanced People's Prosperity Housing Programme

The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) has rebranded the People's Housing Programme for the Poor (PPRT) to the People's Prosperity Housing Programme (PPRS). Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, stated that the rebranding aims to change the local community's perception and the mindset of the housing programme's residents.

馬來西亞農村及區域發展部(KKDW)將針對貧困人民的人民房屋計劃(PPRT)重新品牌定爲人民繁榮房屋計劃(PPRS)。馬來西亞副首相兼農村及區域發展部部長阿哈邁德·扎希德·哈米迪博士表示,重新定位的目的是改變當地社區對住房計劃居民的看法和心態。

The initiative also involves improving the PPRS house specifications to 680 square feet compared to the previous 600 square feet and introducing the rent-to-own concept for residents who intend to own the houses they live in.

該計劃還涉及將PPRS房屋規格提高到680平方英尺,而以前是600平方英尺,並引入租賃購買概念,供有意擁有自己所住房屋的居民使用。

Ahmad Zahid, speaking to reporters after delivering a summary of the KKDW Retreat Programme here today, said the expansion of the house size was made based on national housing policy standards and benchmarks.

"I hope this programme will be followed by other ministries involved in providing housing for the people, especially the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), state governments, state housing departments, and local authorities (PBT).

“我希望其他提供住房給人民的部委,尤其是住房與地方政府部(KPKT)、州政府、州住房部門和地方當局(PBT)能夠效仿這一計劃。

"We must make changes to this concept, not just follow the national housing policy, but also take a more comprehensive approach in changing the mindset and preferences of stakeholders involved, especially buyers and residents of low-cost houses," he said.

他說:“我們必須對這個概念進行改變,不僅要遵循國家住房政策,而且還要採取更全面的做法來改變利益相關者,尤其是低廉房屋的買家和居民的心態和偏好。”

Ahmad Zahid said that for 2024, KKDW has allocated RM460.4 million to build 3,000 new PPRS units and repair 12,600 existing units. The Ministry also plans to build more PPRS units under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13).

阿哈邁德·扎希德表示,KKDW已經爲2024年撥出4,604萬林吉特,建造3,000個新的PPRS單位並維修12,600個現有單位。該部還計劃在第13個馬來西亞計劃(RMK13)下建造更多的PPRS單位。

"For RMK12, more than 10,000 units have been built. We are planning for more in RMK13 because we know costs can be reduced, especially land purchase costs, and the cost for road infrastructure or access roads to housing areas can be shared with state governments, PBT, and government companies," he said.

他說:“在RMK12中,已經建成了10,000多個單位。我們正在計劃在RMK13中建造更多的單位,因爲我們知道成本可以降低,特別是土地購買成本,住房區域道路基礎設施或通道道路的成本可以與州政府、PBt和政府公司共享。”
