華僑銀行宣布，就以14億新加坡元(約80.8億港元)向大東方控股(Great Eastern)收購餘下11.56%的股權提出自願性無條件普通要約，每股作價25.6新加坡元，較大東方控股上日收市價溢價36.9%。完成後，公司有意將大東方控股從新加坡交易所退市。
公司認為，收購事項為加強其在銀行、財富管理和保險領域的業務支柱，並優化其資本以提高股東回報率。
