According to the Zhitong Finance App, Bauhaus International (00483) announced the results for the year ended March 31, 2023. Turnover fell by about 21.1% to about HK$197 million, gross profit decreased by about 6.0% to about HK$150 million, net profit decreased 67.77% year-on-year to HK$459.67 million, and basic and diluted earnings per share were about HK$12.5 cents.
In the year under review, the group's negative same-store sales growth fell to around — 6% (2022: — 16%). The decline in sales was mainly due to a reduction in business scale and a slump in the retail market. In particular, Macau looked back at the first three quarters of the fiscal year. However, since Hong Kong and Macau customs clearance in early 2023, overall sales performance has continued to recover.
The sharp decline in net profit was mainly due to the fact that the group had roughly completed asset monetization actions in the previous financial year, so the gain from the sale of properties and a subsidiary that owns the property declined sharply from a total of about HK$174 million in the same period last year to about HK$1.5 million during the period.
