Singapore Shares Drop 0.7% as Travel Stocks Slide -- Market Talk
0112 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index is down 0.7% at 3143.45 in morning trade, weighed down by travel-related stocks. News of the spread of the highly infectious Omicron coronavirus variant worldwide is weighing on tourism shares, with Singapore Airlines dropping 2.4%, SATS Ltd. falling 1.3% and casino operator Genting Singapore losing 1.3%.
