TeslaCEO Musk sent another mobilization letter to employees towards the end of the third quarter, asking them to "sprint" to make up for the production challenges caused by parts shortages early in the third quarter and to "ensure a decent delivery figure in the third quarter."
"this time the delivery wave at the end of the quarter was unusually high because we suffered extremely severe parts shortages earlier in the quarter (like the industry as a whole)," Mr Musk said in an internal email on Wednesday. "
Tesla, Inc. produced "a lot of cars that lack parts, which need to be added later," he said. "
Musk also said: "this is the biggest delivery wave in Tesla, Inc. 's history."
Tesla, Inc. delivered record volumes in the second quarter, but Mr Musk said in July that production growth for the rest of the year would depend on global chip shortages, which he said was "still quite serious".
Musk sends emails to employees at the end of almost every quarter urging them to improve delivery and sometimes hinting at delivery targets. But in the past, these emails were usually sent 10 days before the end of the quarter, this time significantly earlier.
