On the 24th, the UN Security Council held a high-level public meeting on "Enhancing the Adaptability of UN Peace Operations." The Chinese representative stated in the speech that peacekeeping actions are an important tool for the Security Council to maintain international peace and security. Currently, the international security situation is complex and changeable, and peace operations face unprecedented challenges. Peacekeeping actions must adhere to the three principles of peacekeeping. The permanent representative of China to the UN, Fu Cong, indicated that the three principles of peacekeeping must always be fundamentally followed. (1) Consent of the parties involved, (2) Neutral, (3) Non-self-defense, and use of force only to fulfill mandates. These principles have been summarized by the UN through long-term practice and must always serve as guiding principles for peacekeeping actions. Deviating from these principles may lead to unforeseen complex consequences, thus undermining the objectives of peacekeeping actions.
