At today's BMW Group Brand Night 2024, several new models of BMW and MINI, two major brands under the BMW Group, were unveiled. Including the debut of BMW's new-generation concept car in China, the world debut of MINI's first all-electric crossover model, the MINI Aceman, and the new electric MINI Cooper was also officially unveiled in China. According to reports, in terms of electric drive technology, the new generation model will use sixth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology and cylindrical batteries for the first time, increasing the range by 30% and the charging speed by 30%; in terms of human-computer interaction, the new generation model will be equipped with a BMW panoramic view bridge. The new generation of models will adopt a new electronic and electrical architecture and a “domain control” design, and its innovative results will gradually be applied to all future BMW models. BMW revealed that the new generation model will be put into operation in Shenyang in 2026, and Shenyang will be one of the first production bases to start production of sixth-generation power batteries, with an investment of 10 billion yuan in the project.
