The China Iron and Steel Association held a launch meeting to evaluate new steel production capacity management mechanisms and steel production capacity replacement policies. According to the requirements of “transforming the demands of member companies into professional opinions of the industry and turning professional opinions of the industry into policy options for the government”, the China Steel Association invited relevant departments and bureaus, steel companies, and industry research institutes to participate in the organization of the project, fully communicate and brainstorm ideas, and strive to form consensus and enhance the rationality and viability of the project results. The conference exchanged discussions on the new mechanism for managing steel production capacity and the evaluation of steel production capacity replacement policies, and made arrangements for follow-up research on the topic.
