The Ministry of Education added 29 new majors this year

This year, the Ministry of Education updated and published the “Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in General Colleges and Universities (2025)”, adding 29 new majors. The new catalogue includes 93 professional categories and 845 majors, further strengthening the rapid response of professional settings to the urgent needs of national Global Strategy and high-quality development. According to the Ministry of Education, the 29 new majors added this time fully reflect national Global Strategy, market demand, and scientific and technological development. In terms of serving the national Global Strategy, majors such as regional national studies, carbon neutrality science and engineering, marine science and technology, health and medical security have been added to face the frontiers of scientific and Technology development, and majors such as intelligent molecular engineering, medical device and equipment engineering, and spatio-temporal information engineering to actively adapt to market needs and add majors such as international cruise management and aviation sports. At the same time, focus on artificial intelligence to empower economic and social development, and add majors such as artificial intelligence education, intelligent audiovisual engineering, and digital drama.
