Japan has become the third largest trading partner of Hubei Province, while South Korea has entered the top ten sources of inbound tourism to Hubei.

On June 17, at the China-Japan-South Korea Economic Seminar and Friendship City Roundtable held in Wuhan, representatives from the relevant governments of China, Japan, and South Korea introduced the situation. A relevant person in charge from the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce introduced that with the joint efforts of all parties, Japan and South Korea rank as the third and seventh largest trading partners of our province in 2024. During this year's May Day holiday, South Korea became one of the top ten key sources of inbound tourism for Hubei. Currently, the Osaka World Expo is being held, and the provincial government delegation has set off to Japan to start the Hubei Week activities at the China Pavilion. Hubei's strong industrial foundation has attracted many well-known Japanese and South Korean companies, including Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Marubeni, AEON STORES, Itochu, Sumitomo, SKGC, and LG, to settle in Hubei. At present, there are more than 300 Japanese-funded enterprises in Wuhan, jointly building the Autos Industry Chain with local enterprises; Xiaogan has established a Japanese business industrial park, gathering 35 enterprises, becoming the most influential gathering area for Japanese-funded industries in the central region. At the meeting, Yoon Gi-seop, director of the Wuhan Trade Office of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, expressed that South Korea will strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with Hubei in the fields of hydrogen energy and Jiangsu Nonghua Intelligent Agriculture Technology.
