Li Chenggang, the international trade negotiation representative and vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, spoke in London about the first meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, stating that both sides engaged in professional, rational, in-depth, and candid communication. The two sides have basically reached a framework to implement the consensus from the phone call between the two heads of state on June 5 and the consensus from the Geneva talks. The progress achieved in the London discussions is beneficial for further enhancing trust between China and the US, promoting the stable and healthy development of economic and trade relations, and injecting positive energy into the development of the global economy.
