A comprehensive Physical Examination package for urban planning has been introduced in our country.

The 2025 version of the "National Spatial Planning Urban Physical Examination Assessment Regulations" was officially released on May 16. This new version of the urban comprehensive Physical Examination package emphasizes a people-centered approach and further strengthens planning adaptability. Among the additions, the document includes indicators for "the area of agricultural land within a 20-kilometer radius of urban areas" to guide urban suburbs in enhancing the construction of "rice bags" and "vegetable baskets"; indicators for "the number of water source areas" to promote cities achieving multi-source water supply; and it specifically adds monitoring and evaluation for the renovation progress of old gas pipelines, safety distance control of pipelines, and spatial guarantee for electric bicycle parking areas. It places greater focus on the actual feelings of the people, with the assessment of the "15-minute Community living circle" elevated to a mandatory action for all cities. (Xinhua News Agency)
