The China Immigration Administration. It has been decided that, starting immediately, temporary travel permits will be issued to residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan who have the need to travel to the mainland (China), and services for verifying the "dual certification association" between travel permits and residence permits will be provided.
According to the introduction, the specific details of the two convenience measures are:
Firstly, if residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan lose, damage, or forget to carry their permits and need to urgently fly or travel by train between mainland (Chinese) cities, they can log into the China Exit-Entry Administration's government service platform (Immigration Bureau 12367) via mobile phone to instantly apply for an electronic temporary permit valid for 7 days, which can be verified by civil aviation, railroads, and other agencies, to avoid delays in regular travel.
Secondly, if residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have a need to connect their permits and residence permits for personal matters, they can submit a connection query application on the administration's government service platform, or apply for a paper-based connection query result at any county-level or higher exit-entry administration authority nationwide, to prove the relationship between their permit and residence permit to relevant departments and enterprises. Various industry regulatory departments and enterprises that provide services to residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan can apply to connect to the administration's exit-entry certificate identity verification platform, and automatically verify the connection of the dual certificates through system integration based on the needs of the residents.
