On Tuesday, two USA astronauts who had been stranded in orbit for 9 months finally left the International Space Station aboard SpaceX's spacecraft, beginning their long-awaited journey home. Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, along with two other crew members, were in the Dragon spacecraft when they detached from the International Space Station at 1:05 AM New York time on Tuesday. The spacecraft is expected to travel through space, pass through the atmosphere, and ultimately land on Earth via parachute, splashing down off the Florida coast around 6 PM local time.
