President Trump has tasked the department with dismantling the federal bureaucracy. The White House had previously confirmed that Musk was appointed as a 'special government employee.' In a letter to Musk on Monday, Martin mentioned: 'Any threats, confrontations, or any other actions that affect their work may violate many laws.' He did not specify which laws. Martin stated: 'Let me assure you: we will take all legal actions against anyone who obstructs your work or threatens your people.' 'In any case, we will protect DOGE and other (federal) staff.'
