Recently, the Malaysian Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Nien Nazmi, stated that a large number of foreign Technology companies are building Datacenters in Malaysia, which is putting enormous pressure on the country's Energy and hydropower supply, as Datacenters require substantial electricity and water for cooling their equipment. He mentioned that Global Technology companies should pay higher electricity and water fees for the Datacenters established in Malaysia.
