The "China Retirement Financial Survey Report 2024" shows that the acceptance of living in retirement homes is overall quite high, but the willingness to pay for the costs is not strong. There is a contradiction between low willingness to pay and high service demand. The survey indicates that more than half (54.18%) of the respondents expressed a willingness to live in retirement homes in the future, reflecting a relatively positive recognition among Chinese residents towards socialized retirement methods such as retirement homes. However, more than half of the respondents are willing to pay for retirement home fees that do not exceed 3000 yuan per month.
