LM Ericsson Telephone's Vice President for Northeast Asia and President of LM Ericsson China, Fang Ying, recently stated at a media briefing that so far, more than 320 5G commercial networks have been deployed globally, with over 1.9 billion 5G users and a population coverage rate exceeding 50%. At the same time, despite the rapid development of 5G, it still faces two major challenges: inadequate exploration of commercial potential, with the average growth rate of the top 40 global operators in the past decade only 0.3%, insignificant revenue growth from 5G, and increased difficulty in traffic operation, with traffic growth tending to stabilize; the second challenge is the increasing difficulty in the operation of 5G networks, which has increased the complexity of supporting diversified businesses and the cost of network operation and maintenance. LM Ericsson is driving the continuous evolution of 5G networks towards high-performance programmable networks, based on the three cornerstones of differentiated connectivity, AI empowerment and intent-driven, and network capability openness, creating and unleashing 'new quality value', making networks more flexible, intelligent, and open, thereby effectively addressing the two major challenges facing 5G mentioned above.
