The 32nd session of the 14th NPC Standing Committee meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People in Peking on the morning of the 25th. Chairman **** presided over the meeting. The meeting decided that the 12th session of the 14th NPC Standing Committee will be held in Peking from November 4th to 8th.

The Chairman's meeting proposed that the agenda of the 12th session of the 14th NPC Standing Committee include deliberation on drafts such as the Preschool Education Law, the Revised Cultural Relics Protection Law, the Revised Mineral Resources Law, the Energy Law, the Revised Anti-Money Laundering Law, and revisions to the supervision law of people's congresses at all levels; deliberation on the proposal of the NPC Standing Committee Chairman's meeting to submit the draft amendment to the Representative Law for deliberation; deliberation on proposals from the State Council regarding the revision of the Arbitration Law, the revision of the Maritime Law, the revision of the Science and Technology Popularization Law, and the decision to temporarily adjust the application of relevant provisions of the Measurement Law in pilot cities for innovation in the business environment; deliberation on the proposal from the State Council to approve the amendment to the 1996 Protocol of the Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships ('MARPOL 73/78').

The agenda proposed by the Chairman's meeting for the 12th session of the Standing Committee includes deliberation on reports about the financial situation by the State Council, the comprehensive report on the management of state-owned assets in 2023, the special report on the management of state-owned assets in administrative institutions in 2023, the report on the work to build world-class universities and disciplines with Chinese characteristics, the report on desertification control work; deliberation on reports about the administrative judicial work of the Supreme People's Court, the administrative prosecutor work of the Supreme People's Procuratorate; reports from the NPC Standing Committee's law enforcement inspection team on the implementation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Law, the implementation of the Social Insurance Law; reports from the NPC Supervision and Judicial Committee, the Environmental and Resources Protection Committee, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, the Social Construction Committee on the results of reviewing proposals from the Presidium of the 14th NPC's second session; deliberation on the report on the qualifications of individual representatives by the NPC Standing Committee's Qualifications Review Committee; deliberation on relevant appointments and dismissals etc.

During the Chairman's meeting, the Secretary-General of the NPC Standing Committee, Liu Qi, reported on the draft agenda and schedule of the 12th session of the Standing Committee. The relevant deputy secretaries-general of the NPC Standing Committee, as well as the heads of relevant special committees and working committees of the NPC Standing Committee, reported on the relevant topics.
