Documents filed by Microsoft with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) show that the shareholders' meeting on December 10th will vote on the "Evaluation of Investment in Bitcoin." The proposal was put forth by the conservative think tank, National Center for Public Policy Research, but the Microsoft Board of Directors recommends shareholders to vote against it. The board believes the proposal is "unnecessary" and states that the company management has already given thorough consideration to Bitcoin and other cryptos, and will continue to monitor related trends for decision-making purposes.
