At the 2024 World Manufacturing Conference, which opened on the 20th, Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, proposed that since last year, generative artificial intelligence and large-scale model technology have developed rapidly, providing catalysts and accelerators for the intelligentization process of manufacturing enterprises. As for how artificial intelligence empowers the development of the manufacturing industry, Yang Yuanqing took the Lenovo Group's Lebao Factory in Hefei as an example. The factory has achieved intelligent demand forecasting, intelligent production scheduling, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent production line maintenance, intelligent quality inspection, intelligent logistics, and intelligent energy consumption management supported by the "end-edge-cloud-network-intelligence" technology architecture. The factory needs to process more than 5,000 orders every day, and more than 80% of them are personalized customization demands of less than 5 units. The daily calculation of materials is about 0.26 billion pieces, with great complexity. Previously, manual production scheduling took about 6 hours a day, and after intelligentization, the production scheduling time was reduced to 1.5 minutes, and the output increased by 23%.
