According to the Ministry of Commerce, driven by projects such as trade promotion, investment-driven development, poverty reduction, and benefiting agriculture, China-Africa economic and trade cooperation has steadily developed, and China has maintained the position of Africa's largest trading partner for fifteen consecutive years. In the first half of 2024, China imported $60.1 billion from Africa, with a year-on-year increase of 14%. The import of agricultural products from Africa to China has achieved seven consecutive years of positive growth. China has expanded the range of products receiving zero-tariff treatment from the least developed countries to 98% of tariff lines. It has signed 22 protocols on agricultural product import access with 14 African countries. In recent years, the import of African agricultural products with access to the Chinese market has grown rapidly.
