China will take all measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests. The EU automobile industry is highly dependent on the international market, creating a trade surplus of nearly 100 billion euros each year. In 2023, nearly 80% of the cars produced in Germany were exported, and a good international trade environment is a common expectation of EU auto companies. China's auto sales account for one-third of the global market, and European brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW have a sales proportion of more than 30% in China. Over 80% of large displacement fuel vehicles in China are imported from the EU and other countries. Recently, many countries and enterprises in the EU have expressed their opposition to trade barriers and the imposition of tariffs on electric vehicles exported to China. China urges the EU to listen to reasonable demands from all parties, immediately correct erroneous practices, and stop politicizing economic and trade issues.
