In response to recent reports of certification violations by auto manufacturers in Japan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has conducted a comprehensive investigation of 85 auto and equipment manufacturers. As of the end of May, 68 companies have completed the investigation, including five companies such as Toyota Motor, Mazda Motor, Yamaha Motor, Honda, and Suzuki found to have engaged in misconduct. Wang Yao, Deputy Chief Engineer of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the representative organization of China's automobile industry, told CCTV reporters today (May 5) that the association pays close attention to compliance issues in the international automobile manufacturing industry. According to information obtained from public channels at present, the reported violations do not involve their joint ventures in China. However, any violations committed by multinational car companies in any country will have negative impacts on their brand image. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers will continue to pay attention to the compliance operation of these companies in China to ensure that they comply with local laws and regulations and maintain the order of the automobile market.
