JLL released a report on the 16th saying that the Asia Pacific hotel investment market is improving steadily in 2022. Total hotel investment in Asia Pacific is expected to exceed US$10.7 billion in 2022, an increase of 14% over the previous year. As of September 2022, total hotel transactions in Asia Pacific were US$8.4 billion, up 16% year over year. Among them, city hotel transactions amounted to US$5.7 billion, which is only 81% of the same period in 2019; however, resort hotel transactions grew significantly, reaching US$911 million, exceeding the same period before the pandemic by 34%. The report points out that the long-standing backlog of demand for leisure travel will further drive market recovery and enhance investor confidence. The report predicts that the Asia Pacific hotel market will continue to attract more investment in 2023, with annual investment reaching US$11.5 billion, an increase of about 6% over the previous year.
