Global laptop shipments fell 15 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, according to market research firm StrategyAnalytics. Lenovo remained number one in the laptop market in the second quarter, with shipments falling to 12.8 million units (wholesale), down 17% from 15.5 million units in the same period last year and 11% month-on-month. HP's laptop shipments fell 29 per cent year-on-year to 10.5 million units in the second quarter; market share fell below 20 per cent for the second consecutive quarter. Due to tight supply in that quarter, Apple Inc MacOS barely outperformed the overall market; MacBook shipments were 4.8 million, down 13 per cent from the second quarter of 2021 and 21 per cent from the first quarter of 2022.
