The China Automotive Technology Research Center released a research report on the 2022 China Automobile low carbon Action Plan in Beijing yesterday. The report system combs the carbon emission accounting and carbon emission level of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and other passenger vehicles sold in China in the whole life cycle. The newly released report examines the life-cycle carbon emission levels of 6725 passenger and commercial vehicles. Data show that the total carbon emissions in the whole life cycle of China's automobile industry has reached 1.2 billion tons, of which passenger cars account for about 58 per cent. Compared with traditional gasoline cars, pure electric vehicles reduce carbon emissions by 43.4%. It is estimated that by 2060, the whole life cycle carbon emissions of pure electric vehicles will reach 23 grams per kilometer, with great potential for carbon reduction.
