COSCO Shipping Holdings (01919.HK) announced that on October 18, 2021, the company received notice from its controlling shareholder, China Ocean Shipping Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "COSCO Shipping Group"). Based on its confidence in the company's future development prospects and recognition of the company's investment value, it will increase its stake in the company's A shares through the trading system of the Shanghai Stock Exchange on October 18, 2021 ("first increase"). Cosco Shipping Group or its subsidiaries plan to increase their A-share and H-share holdings with their own funds within 6 months from the date of the first increase, with a total amount of not less than 1 billion yuan and no more than 2 billion yuan (including the first increase of shares). Cosco Shipping Group has recently increased its A-share holdings by a cumulative total of 45.4 million shares (including the first increase) through the trading system of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, accounting for about 0.284% of the company's total issued share capital by the end of the third quarter of 2021. The amount of increase reached more than 50% of the lower limit of 1 billion yuan of this plan.
