On August 2, GLONGHUI | Hengteng Network (0136.HK) resumed trading and jumped 31.58% higher to HK$4.5, with a market capitalization of HK$41.6 billion. According to last night's announcement, China Evergrande sold shares in Hengteng Network for HK$3.25 billion, and Tencent spent HK$2.07 billion to take over 7% of the shares (purchase price was HK$3.2 per share, a 6.4% discount from before the suspension). After the transaction was completed, China Evergrande's shareholding ratio in Hengteng Network dropped from 37.55% to 26.55%, still the largest shareholder; Tencent's shareholding ratio increased to 23.9%, making it the second largest shareholder. Analysts pointed out that Hengteng Network is undergoing a film and television transformation, and support from the two major shareholders may benefit the pumpkin movie streaming platform that has just been acquired.
