The company announced on Monday that it will launch another full-size all-electric pickup under its GMC brand. The brand also launched an electric version of GMC Hummer EV, which is expected to start delivery later this year. In April, GM also confirmed that its Chevrolet brand would also launch an electric version of Silverado.

Duncan Aldred, global head of the GMC brand, said: "I am very confident that GMC will be the winner in this field." He also said the planning of the new car was "quite advanced", but he declined to say when the car would be released.

Earlier, GM announced plans to invest $27 billion and launch 30 electric vehicles by 2025, and electric pickups are part of that plan. GM plans to sell at least 1 million electric vehicles a year by 2025 and transform itself into an electric car manufacturer by 2035.
