By Peugeot Citroen andFiat ChryslerThe merged Stellantis announced on Thursday that it plans to invest more than 30 billion euros to develop electric vehicles and related software by 2025.
The company said it will launch a series of cars that can travel 500 miles (about 800 kilometers) on a single charge, and it also plans to build five battery plants in Europe and the US by 2030.
The company said it hopes that by 2030, the share of low-emission vehicles sold in Europe and the US will reach 70% and 40%, respectively.
