Bezos, founder of Blue Origin, sold rocket seats for $28 million on July 20, the first time the company has sent a man into space.

The identity of the seat winner will not be announced for several weeks, Blue Origin said on Saturday. Before the day's live auction, the online auction lasted several weeks, with more than 7000 people from 159 countries submitting online bids. Bezos' brother Mark will also take part in the trip.

The 11-minute journey from Van Horne, Texas, will carry up to six passengers. Blue Origin has not yet revealed who else will board the New Shepherd spaceship. This will be the company's 16th manned aircraft, but it will be the first manned flight.

Blue Origin is competing with Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies and Virgin Galactic Holdings to provide space travel for a small number of wealthy tourists.

Passengers on the New Shepard, named after pioneer astronaut Alan Shepard, need to meet the following conditions:

The height ranges from 5 feet (1.52 meters) to 6 feet 4 inches and weighs between 110 pounds and 223 pounds (50-100 kilograms).

It can climb the seven stairs of the launch tower in less than 90 seconds and can stay on the plane without going to the toilet for 90 minutes.

It can withstand a gravity of 5.5 times the normal body weight during the fall and 3 times the normal weight during the rise for up to two minutes.

Passengers are advised to consult medical professionals about their physical condition and their ability to fly on the New Shepard flight. Clients must also provide informed consent to acknowledge the risks of flying into space.

SpaceX has previously transported astronauts to the International Space Station for NASA. Both SpaceX and Virgin Galactic are preparing to carry non-government customers.

Blue Origin will donate the proceeds from the auction to its Future Club Foundation, which aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology and mathematics.

Bezos, who spends about $1 billion a year to fund Blue Origin, has been slowly selling his stake in Amazon.Com Inc to invest in his space career. He will step down as chief executive of Amazon.Com Inc on July 5 and be replaced by Andy Jassy.
