TeslaThe price of Tesla's car is rising due to supply chain pressure across the auto industry, especially in terms of raw materials, CEO Elon Musk said in a post on Monday.
"the price increase is due to price pressures in the main supply chains throughout the industry, especially raw materials," Musk said. "
He made the remarks in response to a netizen's post, who wrote: "I really don't like Tesla's current development direction. I have raised the price of the car, but removed the waist support adjustment function of Model Y."
Tesla raised the prices of US Model 3 and Model Y models in May, the fifth consecutive price increase in recent months.
In an earnings call in April, Mr Musk said Tesla had experienced "some of the most difficult supply chain challenges", particularly chip shortages. But he added at the time: "We have basically solved the problem."
Commenting on the netizens' claim that the waist support adjustment function of Tesla Model Y passenger seat has been removed, Musk said: "only the waist support adjustment function of the front passenger seat of 3SynY has been removed (obviously not in the back seat). The log shows that this feature has hardly been used. So when a feature is almost never used, it doesn't need to exist for everyone. "
