Xiao Yaqing said that China is a large country of rare earths, with the largest amount of resources and the largest exports, but there are some problems in the development of the market.

First of all, rare earths are not sold at a "rare" price, but at a "local" price. It is because of vicious competition and competitive underpricing that this precious resource is wasted.

Second, there are many environmental protection problems in rare earth production enterprises, which are strongly reflected by the local people.

Third, disorderly mining and waste of resources, some only pick the richest piece, which is called "tapping the heart of cabbage" in Chinese, and the best is taken away, and the efficiency of comprehensive utilization of resources is very poor. In the long run, it will not be used for a few years.

Fourth, there is a lot of repetition in the low level of rare earth development, and there are relatively few high-level rare earth products, which is not conducive to technological innovation and scientific and technological progress.

New energy vehicles are still in the critical period of climbing over the hill.

In view of the overall development of China's new energy vehicle industry, Xiao Yaqing said that China's production and sales of new energy vehicles ranked first in the world for six consecutive years, with a cumulative promotion of more than 5.5 million vehicles. Global sales of new energy vehicles declined last year. Under this background, China's new energy vehicles outshine others, with a relatively high growth rate of 10.9% last year, and the trend continues to increase. At the same time, we also need to be soberly aware that the development of new energy vehicles is still in a critical period of climbing, and there are still many problems in technology, quality and consumer feelings that need to be further solved.

He said that the next step is to do a good job in four areas.
