February 2 Market Review

Us stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow up 0.76%, the Nasdaq up 2.55% and the S & P 500 up 1.61%. Tesla, Inc. rose nearly 6%, Amazon.Com Inc rose more than 4%, Microsoft Corp and Alphabet Inc-CL C rose more than 3%, and Apple Inc, Facebook Inc and Nai soared by more than 1%. Chip stocks rose collectively, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd up more than 4 per cent.

Today, the Hang Seng Index rose 1.23% to 29248 and the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 2.16% to 9976. In trading, JD.com rose 5.5%, BABA 3.5%, Tencent, Meituan and NetEase, Inc all rose; photovoltaic, catering, and pharmaceutical sectors rose across the board, with 99 Mao, Jiaofu and Haidilao International Holding all reaching new highs. Poly Xiexin Energy soared nearly 36%, Sihuan Pharmaceutical rose 20%, and automobile stocks, tobacco concept stocks, gambling stocks and other collective stocks rose.
