The Zhitong Finance App learned that on January 20, MediaTek said that the company will use TSM.US's 6nm chip manufacturing technology to produce the latest chips for high-end 5G smartphones.

According to reports, MediaTek today announced the launch of 5G smartphone chipsets called the Dimensity 1100 and 1200. Among them, the chipset will add 1100 and 1200 chips using 6-nanometer technology and outsource them to TSMC for production.

Finbarr Moynihan, general manager of MediaTek's international corporate sales department, said in an interview: “MediaTek's earlier chips used a 7 nm process. As chip design advances, using newer manufacturing technology will increase MediaTek's product calculation speed by 22% while reducing power consumption by 25%.”
