According to an internal memorandum sent to employees by Rosanne Williams, president of direct business at Starbucks US and Canada, starting December 14, the company's baristas, shift managers, and cafe waiters will receive at least a 10% salary increase, provided they have joined the company before September 24.
Employees who have worked in direct Starbucks stores will receive at least an 11% salary increase, and the starting salary of new hires will be raised by 5% to help store managers recruit more employees.
Starbucks has always been known for providing more generous compensation and benefits than the industry. In March of this year, Starbucks was one of the companies that provided pandemic benefits to employees, but with the reopening of its US stores, these benefits have been gradually eliminated.
