This year, McCoffee will be the first to cover McDonald's Corp restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and will be fully stationed in Nanjing, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Tianjin, Chengdu and Suzhou in 2021. McCoffee will provide all-channel food delivery online and offline, covering offline counters, mobile phone ordering and delivery platforms. Customers can choose to eat in the restaurant or take out, or they can easily enjoy high-quality, cost-effective coffee through McDonald's Corp's delivery network.
In addition, McCoffee will be upgraded from November 18, when it will give away 10 million free lattes in 17 cities across the country, inviting consumers to taste the experience.
China's per capita coffee consumption has reached 12 cups per year.
Data from the prospective Industrial Research Institute show that at present, the size of China's coffee consumption market is about 100 billion yuan, of which instant coffee accounts for 72%, freshly ground coffee accounts for 18%, and instant coffee accounts for 10%. Compared with developed countries such as the United States and Japan, coffee consumption in China is still in its infancy.
According to the weighted average of the prices of instant coffee, instant coffee and freshly ground coffee, it is estimated that the average market consumption price of coffee in China in 2019 is 5 yuan per cup, and the market scale of China's coffee industry in 2019 is about 86 billion yuan.
