On the afternoon of October 17, Jack Ma recently had a lively exchange with 115 principals of famous basic education schools from across the country around education reform and principal leadership in BABA Xixi Park.Ma Yun suggested, "if we want to be a principal by the way of CEO, we should mainly focus on three aspects: the first is to think about the strategy for the future development of the school, the second is the growth and organizational construction of teachers, the cultivation of school culture, and the third is to integrate social resources." "

"Education in the digital age needs to be changed. Today's education was designed by people in the industrial age two or three hundred years ago to serve assembly line production, and education will certainly change in the future. "Jack Ma's views on education reform have been echoed by principals.

In Ma Yun's view, China itself needs educational reform. In the past 40 years, China has changed from a very poor and backward country to the second largest economy in the world. China's greatest success is to use education to bring the whole country into an era dominated by science and knowledge. The educational model of 14 million new-born children determines how the world will view China in the future.

In the future, schools will change, schools will change from the same to different; the content of learning will change, what we will learn in the future is not only knowledge, but also wisdom, teachers will change from "teaching" to "education", and the way of learning will change. In the industrial age, 100 students were taught in the same way, and in the digital age, 100 children had to have 120 methods. In addition, the school's goals and tasks are bound to change. "Education is not about training children added by others, but about making each child the best of himself. "Ma Yun said.

In the face of the current widespread anxiety, Ma Yun proposed that the headmaster should "worry" and not "focus". Being the principal today requires leadership more than ever. Ma Yun particularly stressed the importance of the headmaster. "if the teacher is the coach of the child, then the headmaster is the head coach and be the coach of the teachers." "

Jack Ma, who used to be a CEO as a teacher, also sent his own summed-up experience to the principals: "if you want to be a principal in the way of CEO, you should focus on three aspects: the first is to think about the strategy for the future development of the school, the second is the growth and organizational construction of teachers, the cultivation of school culture, and the third is to integrate social resources. "

Finally, Jack Ma did not forget to ask the principals present to lend a helping hand to rural education: "We want to establish a principal training system to promote the level of principals of rural schools in poor areas, especially in mountainous areas." "

Educational reform requires the leadership of principals.

-- Jack Ma communicated with 100 principals of famous schools

I am looking forward to having the opportunity to communicate with you. Now the children's time is very tight, the teacher's time is also very tight, the headmaster's time is more tense and more precious. When everyone is so busy, I think it is very necessary for us to take the time to go into the enterprise and society, to learn, to communicate and to think. Thank you for coming to participate in BABA's exchange!

I volunteered to attend today. I have always hoped to have an opportunity to communicate and share with primary school principals and secondary school principals. Today is also my first time to share and communicate in Pavilion 9 in the company park since I retired. Because I think it is of great significance to communicate with the headmaster. I would like to talk about something very amateur in BABA Park today.

Before I retired, I was always interested in education. After retiring, my main task is to make some contribution and share in education. So today, I would like to take this rare opportunity to share some educational issues of common concern with all experts and principals.

60% of the rural teachers left because of the headmaster, and changing the educational principal is the key.

More than a month ago, I took the initiative to apply to our Yungu School for a parent-teacher meeting. Everyone thinks that the first lesson of the new term is for students. I think the first lesson in school should be taught to parents first. I don't think there are any unqualified students, but we have many unqualified parents. Before the age of 18, the fate of Chinese children is decided by their parents. The vast majority of families are parents who can do whatever they want. If the parents do not change, and our headmaster and teachers work hard, the children will be turned back by the parents when they get home, so I communicated with the parents.

I hope that the second exchange will be with the principals of the school, especially with the principals of primary and secondary schools. If possible, I would like to have another communication with the teacher, and if I have another opportunity, I would also like to have another exchange and discussion with education officials. Because the issue of education is becoming more and more important and crucial. If we don't do something and change something today, we may be in great trouble in the future, and we will all regret it. Often you don't know what will happen in the future, you won't regret it, but if you know it will be like this, and you haven't done anything, we will regret it.

Jack Ma Public Welfare Foundation was established six years ago. I have prepared for retirement ten years in advance, and after retirement, I will focus on Jack Ma Charitable Foundation.

The most important entry point of Ma Yun Public Welfare Foundation is rural education. In my opinion, the weakest place of education in China is in the countryside. Because it is the weakest, perhaps our resistance to reform will not be too great, and we will have the best chance to become a breakthrough in education reform.

When we were doing rural education at that time, we decided to start with the teachers. Most rural education is running schools, there are many hope schools, and many people have been focused on supporting their children. I think only by helping good teachers can we help good students.

After years of efforts, we have indeed aroused the attention and support of many schools for rural teachers, but there are still many problems. In the past two years, we have been paying close attention to the school merging mechanism, hoping to have the opportunity to merge many rural schools.

Yesterday I was in Dali, there were dozens of schools in Dali, and there was only one teacher in one school. In such a school, good teachers are reluctant to go, and students do not get a good promotion.

In the whole process of the development of rural education, we found a major problem: more than 60% of the teachers left school, mainly because they hated the headmaster. If the headmaster can't, the teacher doesn't want to continue to be a teacher. If the headmaster's problem is not solved, the teacher's problem cannot be solved. It mainly depends on the headmaster to arouse the enthusiasm of teachers. The vision of the teacher determines the vision of the child; the mentality of the teacher determines the mentality of the child, while the vision and mentality of the headmaster will determine the vision and mentality of the teacher.

I was a teacher myself for six years. I believe that a good teacher can influence at least hundreds of students in a lifetime. While a good headmaster may influence a hundred teachers, a headmaster can influence more children. What we really hope is to influence the teachers through the principal, and then influence the students through the teachers.

Every school of the principals here today is very famous, and the principals are also very famous experts in education. I have always thought that China's basic education is first-class in the world. All over the world, you are all first-class educators. I am a layman in the education sector, but I have been communicating everywhere in the past few years, and what I am most concerned about is education, so I would like to share my observations and thoughts over the past few years with you.

China has been talking about strengthening basic education. I have found that all developing countries, relatively poor countries, want to devote resources to universities. The real developed countries, which consider the long-term development of the country, must put educational resources in kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools. The more educational resources move forward, the more hopeful a country is.

Today's education was designed two or three hundred years ago, and there must be future-oriented education in the digital age.

Today's education was designed for the assembly line of the industrial age two or three hundred years ago. In order to achieve the purpose of standardization and scale, a set of education system has been formed to serve it. At that time, this kind of education should be said to be very far-sighted and the most effective. A large number of landless farmers have been sent to jobs in manufacturing and service industries, and human society has also made great progress.

However, two or three hundred years later, the times have undergone earth-shaking changes, but our thinking on education has not changed.

Education in the industrial age pays attention to standardization and scale, and different children receive the same education. Because the assembly line must be standardized and must be large-scale.

Today, we are in the midst of a new technological revolution. In my opinion, in the next two to three hundred years, the changes in the world will be no less than those in the past two to three hundred years, no less than the changes of mankind from the agricultural society to the industrial age, and the changes may be even greater in the future.

What kind of education we need to design for the future, and what kind of preparation our children need to make for the future, this is a question that we must think about today, and it is also the responsibility and responsibility of the principals.

No matter whether we change or not, some schools will change. Whether we change or not, education will change in the future. Today's famous schools may not be tomorrow's famous schools, and today's winners may not be tomorrow's winners. Only by changing for the future and trying for the future can we have a chance not to be eliminated by the future.

Every technological revolution will bring about a social revolution. In the digital age, education must be changed. In the future, more than half of the jobs will be replaced by machines. If we continue to educate today's children in the way of the industrial age, they will certainly not be able to compete with machines, and they will not be able to find room for development in the future.

The educational model of 14 million new-born children determines how the world will view China in the future.

China's own development also needs educational reform. Over the past four decades, our country has grown from a very poor and backward country to the second largest economy in the world. I think the greatest credit is education. In the past hundred years, especially in the past 40 years, China's greatest success has been to use education to bring the whole country into an era dominated by science and knowledge.

When I was a child, what I heard most was "knowledge is power". I used knowledge to change my destiny. When knowledge changes the fate of the individual, the fate of the country will also change greatly. It is a great achievement for our country to develop the brain mineral resources of China's 1.4 billion people through education.

Every year, less than 14 million babies are born in our country. With the development of social economy, higher and higher personal income, as well as various other factors, our birth rate will become lower and lower. Maybe less than 10 million, or even 8 million. In my opinion, these 14 million newborn children are our country's most valuable resource and our country's most unique brain mineral. If the way and method of education is not right, we are very likely to turn these 14 million gold mines into waste mines, or even cause mining accidents.

The future education model of these 14 million new-born children determines how the world will view China in the future, determines China's position in the world, and determines the relationship between China and the world. This is also the great responsibility and responsibility of education.

No one can tell what kind of education in the future, but it is certainly not what it is today.

Today, all schools are the same; in the future, each school may be different. In the past, in order to train standardized talents, whether nanmu or gold nanmu, all were made into plywood. What is needed in the future is personalized talents, the management of the school is definitely different, the classes are different, the methods are different, and the evaluation system is also different.

The school of the future will learn not only knowledge, but also the ability to learn and the ability to cope with challenges and changes. Human knowledge has exploded sharply, but human wisdom has not improved much for thousands of years. The school of the future will learn not only knowledge, but wisdom.

Today's children know more than their teachers. What young people know, we don't necessarily know. We pretend to know, while the children pretend not to know. Therefore, if you compare knowledge, teachers may not be able to teach children in many ways. Teachers should change from "teaching" to "education".

In the past, students looked for the right answer in class; in the future, there may be no correct answer, no standard answer, teachers and students should work together to find answers and create answers.

In the past, we always said that "imparting knowledge and solving doubts" was the main thing for teachers to teach knowledge. in the future, teachers should be the enlightening coaches of children's life to train children how to face challenges, how to seize opportunities, and how to keep learning. I find that many teams have excellent coaches, but good coaches don't necessarily play well. How could Tyson's coach beat Tyson? The coach actually plays a role of tutoring in life, prompting him to pursue and improve constantly.

I often say that mathematics is very important and Chinese is also very important, but sound, physique and beauty may be more important. Learning music can stimulate spirituality; learning dance can make children understand rhythm; learning painting can make children experience creativity and imagination; learning sports can make children learn tolerance from sports and team responsibility. Learn to face failures and setbacks.

Many children today find it difficult to accept setbacks and challenges. Because they read not only books, but also books. If he has experienced failures and understood setbacks in sports, his anti-hitting ability will be very strong. As far as I am concerned, perhaps one of the greatest experiences is that I have not been successful along the way. In my opinion, failure is normal, and so is it. Failure is normal, but success is pitiful.

We are all strong in singles, but we are all weak in team sports. As long as there is a net in the middle of the movement, we are all good, but when people collide, we will fall back. Because we lack team sports, football and basketball are collisions between people, and our children have to solve problems from collisions. If our children can't learn to work as a team, how can China cooperate with other countries in the future?

So we let children exercise, not to meet the standards, but to enjoy the fun of sports, learn to work as a team, and learn to solve problems in conflicts. We all know that Chinese football is very poor, 1.4 billion people, but can not find 11 people. What's the problem? Is it true that 11 out of 1.4 billion people can't be found? There is something wrong with our mechanism and training.

Art is also very important. Art was originally related to the aesthetic education of life, but it has become a survival skill in China. We should let our children learn to appreciate art from an early age, instead of waiting until they are old enough to go to university for the elderly before they begin to study art.

A friend of mine is in Canada and has never planned to return home. Asked why, he said his daughter was learning to skate in Canada. Isn't it good to learn to skate in China? He told me that there is one thing that China does not have: the feeling of music when skating. The purpose of learning to skate in Canada is to let children enjoy music and skate in all kinds of melodies and rhythms of music. If you look at our music, it may make no difference to play an erhu or a symphony in skating today, because the music is just a background.

In the industrial age, a hundred students teach in the same way; in the digital age, a hundred children may need 120 teaching methods. Because 20% of people may like to take different paths as I do.

In the past, 45 minutes a class, a class of 40 students, seven classes a day, this is the standard, although I do not know if this standard is correct. Such standards may be the most efficient in the industrial age, but in the digital age, we need to rethink.

At first, the net on the basket had a bottom. Every time you throw a ball, someone needs to climb to the edge of the basket with a ladder and hold the basketball out before playing. Sixteen years later, it was suggested that the bottom of the Nets could be cut. How does that work? Basketball needs a basket. The man with the ladder was the first to object because his job was gone. Finally, after cutting off the bottom of the Nets, basketball becomes more and more beautiful. Sometimes, everything we are used to, entering a new era, what we have to ask is why it can't be changed.

Education is not about training other people's children, but about making each child the best of himself.

Most importantly, the goals and tasks of the school are bound to change. The purpose of education is not to train the children of the next-door neighbor, but to make every child the best of himself.

Fundamentally speaking, many of the pressures and dilemmas faced by schools today are the choice of educational goals and tasks. Fundamentally speaking, it is what kind of people we want our children to become.

Today's schools are really difficult, and the safety issue has become a veto. When schools do anything, they have to worry about a lot of problems, to cope with the various requirements of parents, and to deal with all kinds of examinations at the top.

The poor education of many children has a lot to do with their mothers, especially those who are not good at their own studies. The mother said, look at how good other people's children are; the child said, look at other people's mothers. Reading some people are talent, some people are geniuses, we must learn from him, then why don't you make me as smart as others?

Education is a common thing for schools and parents, but parents must trust the school. If they have doubts about the school, I think they should choose to transfer. In the future, we should change from looking at other people's children to looking at other people's parents. It is necessary to reform and upgrade parents in order to make education better.

Today, our education is to protect children from problems in school, but you can't protect children for life. Now when school is over, all the parents are waiting at the school gate. I think he should be allowed to cross the road by himself in primary and junior high school. If he walks on the road, he should take a bus and ride a bike. When I was a child, I carried a satchel and played all the way home. What a good life. Can't even children come home from school by themselves now?

The school can guarantee that the child will have no problems at school, but there is no guarantee that he will not have problems for the rest of his life. When I went to Israel, I asked the Israeli Minister of Education: why are Israeli children so independent? He told me that primary school students in Israel have field survival courses. Accidents do happen to children in this course. Education is not to ensure that children are not in danger, but to teach them how to face danger and how to solve problems. Education is not to ensure children's success, but to teach them how to face failures, setbacks, and failures behind success and success.

We have to tell the children that it doesn't matter if they fail. Sometimes failure is good, because there are bound to be countless failures and setbacks in life. In this life, the number of success is actually pitifully small, tell the children these real things, he will have the confidence to face the future.

We should not transmit educational anxiety to children. We should "worry" but not "focus".

Today, the society transmits the anxiety to the parents, and the parents transmit the anxiety to the school, but the school must not transmit these anxiety to the children. The pressure on the school is very great. We have to "worry", but we can't "worry". "worry" means that we have to think about what to do.

Scientists in the United States have done a survey. They spent 45 years following 5000 gifted children. It turns out that more than 90% of gifted children have not achieved much in their subsequent growth. On the contrary, people who get average grades in school, but often participate in various activities, have experienced setbacks and like to exercise every day are likely to succeed in the future. Therefore, the most important thing is whether there is a suitable education for the child. A really good teacher does not see what he can teach a gifted student, but what change he can bring to an ordinary student. If the teacher is the coach of the child, then the headmaster is the head coach and be the coach of the teachers.

The headmaster's leadership is needed today more than ever.

It is more difficult than ever to be a headmaster today, but he has more leadership than ever. The problems faced by the whole society today, the responsibility of the headmaster is the vision for the future, the courage to change and persist.

I have been the CEO, chairman and founder of the company for 20 years. The leadership is not given by others, but by yourself. If you are responsible for one person, you are an ordinary employee; if you are responsible for more than a dozen people, you are a manager or a small boss; when you are responsible for more than a billion people and hundreds of millions of people in a country, you are the president and you are the prime minister.

Leadership is persistence. There is a difference between persistence and stubbornness. there is an obvious difference. Stubborn people are always saying "I", while persistent people are always saying "we". Stubborn people are hard to change, while persistent people are constantly adjusting. Stubborn people are centered on the past, while persistent people focus on the future.

Leadership is hard to train. So other posts are training, principals are often the first post, and then training. Our country has a system of party building and party development, especially the central and provincial party schools, and we have a systematic system for training cadres. However, I find that we do not have a principal training system, and most of you may not have been trained by principals before becoming principals. After you have taken up the post, you will learn how to be principals.

If there is no headmaster system, it will be troublesome for everyone to make mistakes for a few years. Many people become principals because they can teach. Many rural teachers have been teachers for many years. Without principals, they have become principals. Therefore, I think that in order to improve the educational ability of Chinese schools, there must be a school for principals. China needs a training system and leadership system for principals. In the future, there will be more and more teachers, and the personality of the school will become more and more developed. each school has its own unique leadership ability and style. without training and systematic thinking, it will be very difficult to succeed.

To be a CEO as a teacher, or as a CEO to be a headmaster

In the past, I used to do CEO as a teacher. What I am most proud of is the six-year teacher's training. In fact, an excellent teacher always hopes that his students will be better than himself. When you look at these students with a kind heart, these students can feel the teacher's love, the teacher's responsibility, the teacher's care and responsibility.

When I see all my employees, I hope they are more successful than before. I hope they have a bright future and they can feel it. So when I am CEO, I can scold them, I can scold them, but they can feel, I hope they do better.

As a headmaster, you have to learn how to be a CEO at school. Of course, being a headmaster may sometimes be more difficult than CEO. According to my personal opinion, the headmaster's time should be mainly put on three aspects: the first is to think about the strategy for the future development of the school; the second is to focus on the growth and organizational construction of teachers and the cultivation of school culture; the third is to integrate social resources. The headmaster has a lot to do, but these three are very important.

  • The headmaster's most important ability is to judge the future.

In an enterprise, strategic ability is to assess the ability of the boss and the ability of CEO. In the school, the assessment is the principal of the school, whether he insists, whether he is willing to reform for the future, whether he insists on what is right today, it is very difficult.

There are few enterprises in China that are more than 100 years old, and there are few enterprises in the world that are more than 100 years old, but there are many religions that are more than 300 years old and schools that are more than 300 years old. When we are in business, we often study why schools and religions can be passed on for more than a hundred years, because they have a sense of mission, vision and values.

The mission is to judge the future, the vision is where an organization is going, and values are the things that hold people together.

The key to a leader is to judge the future. From the judgment of tomorrow, do what you do today. Most of us believe because we see, and only a few of us see because we believe. Leadership means seeing things that others can't see, thinking of things that others don't think of, and doing things that others dare not do, and today's headmaster needs such leadership, must judge the future, must see what others do not see, must think that others did not expect, must make decisions that others dare not make.

The most important thing for the headmaster is the outlook on the future. schools should look at the next 20 or 30 years, because the growth of children is not a matter of the moment, but in the next 20 years, 30 years, and a lifetime, if there is no vision for the future, how can children face the future. From the perspective of the future, many of today's problems are not problems. We cannot use the methods of the past to solve today's problems, to solve future problems. We must think about the future.

The principal of every school comes to this post because of everyone's trust in you: the trust of parents, the trust of teachers, the trust of the educational sector. We believe in your judgment of the future and your insistence on correct values.

A global perspective is also crucial. Never before, as today, children around the world have so much knowledge and curiosity about the cultures, histories, institutions and mechanisms of other countries. It is hard to imagine the change and impact of globalization on the world in the next two or three decades. The next two decades may be the most complex for our country in global relations, because we have gone from a poor country to the second in the world in just 40 years. Going to Paris in the future may be no different from going to Wuhan today. in the past, it would be great for us to go to Shenzhen, and it would be great to go to Beijing when we were young. Going to cities all over the world in the future is no different from going to domestic cities today. If our children do not have a global vision and global thinking, there will be a lot of trouble in the future.

We should train children to have sufficient understanding, respect and understanding of other ethnic groups, other cultures, and other religious beliefs, so that children can learn to appreciate, adapt and integrate into different cultures, and train their ability to adapt and learn. only in this way can children have a future and China will have a future.

The overall view is also very important. We teach our children to look at things from different angles and from the overall point of view.

  • The headmaster's most important job is to support and motivate teachers.

Teaching well does not mean that the headmaster does a good job. A good coach may not play football well or punch well. The coach of the Bulls at that time, he was probably not much different from me in playing the ball, but he could motivate and mobilize everyone.

In the past, choosing a headmaster was basically a good teacher. In fact, I believe that the reason why all the principals here can be successful principals is that teaching in the Light Society is certainly not enough. The standards of good teachers and good principals are not the same.

In the early years, I strictly forbade the Top Sales in the company, that is, the best sales staff to be the sales director, because when you do the best sales, you can sell well, when you get to the sales director, it is not you who sell well, you have to make your team sell well and let them all become Top Sales.

When you are a teacher, it is important to teach well, and when you are the headmaster, it is important for every teacher in the school to teach well. Now there is a problem in the university. The presidents of the university are all striving to become academicians. Being an academician and being a headmaster are two different things. To be a headmaster is to manage and run this school well, to make the teachers of our school become academicians, not for me to become academicians. Become an academician because of the academic level, good academic and good management are two different things.

The standard of a good teacher is different from that of a good headmaster. The excellent headmaster we need is the coach of the coaches. He knows how to organize, understand culture, know how to train, know how to attract and know how to motivate. The principal's main job is to attract teachers, retain teachers, motivate teachers, and stimulate teachers' potential.

The teacher's problem is solved by the headmaster, and the student's problem is solved by the teacher. The biggest worry for many rural principals is the loss of teachers, and urban principals will also worry about the shortage of teachers. I heard that in today's schools, principals encounter a problem, that is, many teachers are preparing to have a second child, there are not enough teachers, and there is no one to teach the class.

In fact, you can never find a place without lack of people, in the enterprise, you find that people are never enough, there is no excellent unit without lack of people, of course, bad units are also short of people. Therefore, the construction of the organization is extremely critical, the organization is the key to make up for the shortage of talents, the shortage of talents should be made up by the organization, and the organization does not need enough talents to make up, this is the method that I often use in the company.

The headmaster should let the teacher see the future and hope, the teacher's responsibility is to make the students more interested in learning, and the principal's responsibility is to make the teacher more interested in education and teaching. Students hate reading, I think the teacher has a responsibility, can not read well, but like reading, these are two different things, bad reading may blame parents, do not want to read, blame the teacher, you did not stimulate his interest. Teachers do not like teaching and do not know how to educate people. I think the headmaster has the responsibility, your responsibility. The people you recruit do not even want to teach, nor do they want to educate people. The headmaster has a responsibility. The same is true of the company, employees do not like work, the boss must be responsible, you recruit a person who does not want to work, recruit what to do, either train him, or fire him, or promote him, or change him.

So when the headmaster puts the teacher first, the teacher will put the students first. If the headmaster of a school does not give the teacher the space for creativity and individualization, the teacher can not give the child the space for personalization and creativity.

The headmaster should have the ability to set KPI, that is, the ability to assess goals. Setting up KPI is not a simple decomposition of numbers, but an art. When you set assessment goals, you really become a leader. KPI ability is the ability to test the top leader.

I think sports is not for reaching the standards, learning music is not for the entrance examination, the ability of the headmaster is to set up the KPI of these examinations, win the trust and support of parents, and adhere to their own KPI.

When I held a parent-teacher meeting in Yungu last time, many parents opposed the way we taught English. Why didn't we review it? there was no grammar, no object, no adverbial. Although my English failed in the exam, I spoke English better than them. Our children today did very well in the grammar test, but none of them can speak it. The language is for use, not for the exam.

And very interesting, the worse the English, the more they want to take the grammar test, because they are used to it, so the KPI assessment goal and the result are two different things. KPI has been completed, but the result may not be what you want. In the early years, BABA's assessment was the same. The goals set each time were accomplished, but he was just uncomfortable. Finally, I said that there is only one indicator, that is, whether I am satisfied or not, we all think that it is unfair. I say that there is nothing we can do about it. This is like our physical examination, all kinds of indicators are correct, that is, people are uncomfortable, is comfort important or indicators important? I think both are important, the index is good, people are uncomfortable, how can that work?

I went to a school to judge whether the school was good or the class was good. I looked at these children to see if they had bright smiles on their faces and whether they were willing to go to school the next day. In the past, we wanted to play truant if we were able to play truant, but if we could not see the teacher, we would not see the teacher. Today, the teacher is sick and the whole class is happy. No matter how good the indicator is, it is useless. We need to adjust the assessment indicators so that the children are willing to go to school. We, BABA, may work harder than many companies. when we get off work every day, we come home with eyes closed, and wake up the next morning, full of passion, and have new things to do. If so, how could it not be successful?

The students of our school are looking forward to going to school every day. These atmosphere and these cultures are brought up by the principals, which is the principal's responsibility. If you do a good job, it may not be the credit of the headmaster. If you do not do well, it must be the responsibility of the headmaster.

  • The headmaster should spend his time creating and integrating social resources.

When we started our business, we had nothing. I didn't think we would have such a conference room or a park like this. At that time, there was no money, only a dream, we believed in the future, we went to find people, we went to find money, we changed little by little.

Rural principals run schools just like starting a business. They have to find teachers and resources, and even students have to find them one by one. The headmaster should mobilize the resources of the Bureau of Education, the society and parents. The whole reform of education is a reform of the integration of resources and a reform that has reached a consensus.

I find that there is an interesting difference between Chinese schools and overseas schools. Some overseas schools transfer their parents around as if they were studying. In China, they scolded their parents and broke up. I have seen the education in many countries, each of which is different. The education system of Japan is very interesting, and the education system of Israel is very interesting. Personally, I think the education in Northern Europe is particularly strong. Iceland, a country with a population similar to that of our village, kicks football into the top several places in the World Cup, which has something to do with education. China's development over the past 40 years has drawn lessons from mankind's past experience in the development of science, technology and education. Today, it is time for us to rethink. The great responsibility for future-oriented education reform falls on our principals.

So if the teacher is the coach, the principal is the head coach, and the principal's responsibility is to help, support, discover and motivate the teacher. The directors of education are the heads of the chief coaches, and his responsibility is to let these chief coaches play their role and value, not just by management.

We pay too much attention to management, in fact, the headmaster should have operational thinking, not management thinking. Generally speaking, it is necessary to "manage" when something bad happens, and to "manage" when there is chaos. I think the management of the school is not enough, and it is necessary to learn to operate. The difference between BABA and other companies is that we have done a good job in operation. "Yun" is a mechanism that motivates people to move forward, and "camp" means to operate our means of production and our resources. Operation is to have plans, ideas and methods. Running a good school is like running a good enterprise, so that everyone has vitality, drive and growth. When you put too much emphasis on management, you will upgrade to control, and finally to control, and the final product can not be good. It can only reach the standard, but it can not show vitality, can not show the charm of innovation.

These are my superficial thoughts and observations from the outside, but I would like to share with the principals that we work together. The next two decades will be the most complex of changes in the world. How can we adjust our teaching model so that the brains of our 14 million children can really become gold mines, diamond mines, and give birth to all kinds of strange talents? this is the real charm of education.
