DJ Carnival Might Need to Certify Environmental Compliance 60 Days Before Restarting Sailings -Miami Herald

-- Carnival Corp. will need to certify that its ships are environmentally compliant with its probation obligations 60 days before reentering U.S. waters to restart sailings, the Miami Herald reported, citing a forthcoming order from U.S. District Judge Patricia Seitz for the Southern District of Florida that was announced at a status conference Friday.

-- The company's Carnival Cruise Line unit had suspended sailings through Nov. 30. The order puts a potential Dec. 1 sailing resumption at risk.

-- The company had pleaded guilty to environmental crimes such as dumping oily waste into the ocean and has been on probation since April 2017.

-- The judge will share the order with Carnival Friday, and the company has 24 hours to provide feedback before the order is issued, the Herald reported.
