DJ Carnival's Aida Cruises to Resume Sailings Saturday -- Market Talk
1134 ET - Aida Cruises, Carnival's German brand, is resuming sailings in Italy Saturday after pausing operations for more than half a year. Carnival says the resumption is part of its phased-in plan to restart operations with limited itineraries, adjusted passenger capacity and health protocols. Aida will resume initially with its AIDAblu ship, which is scheduled to depart from Civitavecchia near Rome on seven-day itineraries. Voyages will be offered weekly until Nov. 28, Aida says. Costa Cruises, Carnival's Italian brand, had resumed sailings in Italy last month. In the US, the CDC's no-sail order is expected to expire Oct. 31, though Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have all suspended sailings past the date.
