Us President Donald Trump has reportedly chosen to nominate conservative favourite Amy Connie Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump plans to announce the decision on Saturday, according to people familiar with the matter.

Trump is reported to be trying to force Supreme Court justices to be elected before the presidential election. White House aides say Trump may also change the choice of justices.

Shortly after U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Budd Ruth Bader Ginsburg died of illness on Sept. 18, Trump said he would nominate new justices as soon as possible. It has been reported in the media that Trump intends to nominate Amy Kony Barrett as a candidate for Supreme Court Justice, and people familiar with the matter point out that the two have met and talked.

Barrett, a 48-year-old Catholic and former assistant to Justice Antonin Antonin Scalia, is conservative on issues such as gun ownership, immigration and abortion. In 2017, Barrett was nominated by Trump as a judge of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
